A Harty Welcome
Our Farm Omandumba West is exactly what is meant when speaking about a typical Namibian farm: cosy and familiar atmosphere, exciting farm events, fascinating landscapes, recreative nature, rustic accommodation, exciting activities and the famous Namibian silence.
Whilst travelling through Namibia we invite you to enjoy all this with us - relax and get away from it all. Experience the daily farm life amongst dogs, cats, cows, goats, ostriches and other pets on Omandumba, a tremendous joy especially for children.
We, Deike & Harald Rust, hartly welcome you on our farm. The personal contact to you as our guest is a very important part of the stay, just like it should be on a small Namibian farm as ours. This includes shared breakfast and dinner at the family table. After dinner we sit around a camp fire until another African day comes to an end. Harald enjoys giving insights into the history of the farm, explaining the old and the new ways of life of a Namibian farmer family and bringing Namibia’s nature closer to all visitors.
Our Farm Omandumba West
Omandumba West is situated in Namibia at the north-western slope of the Erongo Mountains about 45 km west of Omaruru. The name Omandumba is derived from one of the many Namibian languages, meaning “the place where the bitter bush grows”. At the beginning of the 20th century Harald’s grandfather acquired the 5000 ha large farm as a commercially utilised cattle and goat farm, including a rich diversity of game.
After the Namibian independence in 1990 we developed the idea to combine farming with a small and personal hospitality establishment. We prepared some basic rooms and left everything else as it was, to guarantee an authentic insight into a Namibian farm.
We are convinced: You will enjoy your stay with us and you will remember it for a long time!
